Ironwire High Strength Accessory Cord

Product Details:

We manufacture our Ironwire to be your new favorite high strength low stretch accessory cord.  It is made using a Fusion of High Tenacity Polyester and Dyneema SK75. This hybrid construction takes advantage of both fibers strengths, resulting in a product that is extremely strong, low stretch, abrasion resistant, UV resistant, won't freeze, knots and unknots really great, and has out of this world cut resistance.  And best of all, the ends will melt together because of the fused construction..  If NASA was sending Astronauts to the moon tomorrow, they would use this cord for their moonwalk..  It's that good..  Ironwire can be used for any high strength low stretch accessory you can think of.   Made in the USA, using the best materials on Earth!

What sets our Ironwire apart from other high strength Accessory Cords?
We use the best yarns possible. We braid the line so it's strong, low stretch, and very tangle resistant. We give you more product for less money. We design the line to work really great and we make it ourselves.
FAQ.. How to melt the core and jacket together?
The simple and easy solution is to go back from the tail end of the cord about a foot or two and milk the Polyester/Dyneema jacket over the Dyneema core.  Once you make the jacket slightly longer than the core (you only need to make it about 1/8"), then it's time to melt the ends together.  The Polyester/Dyneema jacket will encapsulate over the Dyneema core locking it in place.  It is a permanent solution that you can use with all cords/ropes with different yarn chemistries.

Aside from the typical uses people rave about, I just used the midnight black Ironwire to make shoelaces for some black leather business casual shoes. Works awesome for that! It is not solid black cord, it has a white strand(s) in the sheath giving it a unique and awesome look for shoes. It has a bit of stiffness and holds the knot wonderfully.

This cord is absolutely outstanding. I've ordered a couple of hundred feet of the 2mm. I use it for my hammock and tarp, plus other applications around backpacking and back country kayaking. Super strong, stretch is negligible, holds knots well when appropriate tension is applied but then releases them easily when tension is removed. Basically does not tangle, even when I get in a hurry and just rapidly wad it up and throw it in a bag. It does take a bit of extra time to setup lines since the core and the sheath are different materials but well, well worth it for all the other benefits. I'll being puchasing more in the future.

I have purchased quite a few "high tech lines" over the years and this is by far the best one I have used. But that is to be expected with anything from Lawson. He really knocks it out of the park with everything he puts his name on. I am using this line for ridgeline with my tarps. It works really great for this because of how strong and low stretch the line is. It also feels extremely smooth. Which seems to be a very good thing as some lines feel so abrasive.
