FAQ.. How to melt the core and jacket together?

Since the core is made from Dyneema and the Jacket is make from Polyester. The ends do not like to melt together due to the different chemistries.  The simple and easy solution is to go back from the end about a foot or two and milk the Polyester jacket over the core.  Once you make the Polyester jacket longer then the core (you only need to make it about 1/8"), then its time to melt it the ends again.  The Polyester will encapsulate over the Dyneema locking it in place.  It works great and is a permanent solution.  You can use this method will all cords/ropes with Dyneema, Spectra, Technora, or Vectran Cores and Nylon or Polyester Jackets.

This cord is absolutely outstanding. I've ordered a couple of hundred feet of the 2mm. I use it for my hammock and tarp, plus other applications around backpacking and back country kayaking. Super strong, stretch is negligible, holds knots well when appropriate tension is applied but then releases them easily when tension is removed. Basically does not tangle, even when I get in a hurry and just rapidly wad it up and throw it in a bag. It does take a bit of extra time to setup lines since the core and the sheath are different materials but well, well worth it for all the other benefits. I'll being puchasing more in the future.

I have purchased quite a few "high tech lines" over the years and this is by far the best one I have used. But that is to be expected with anything from Lawson. He really knocks it out of the park with everything he puts his name on. I am using this line for ridgeline with my tarps. It works really great for this because of how strong and low stretch the line is. It also feels extremely smooth. Which seems to be a very good thing as some lines feel so abrasive.
